Chickpea Burgers


  • 400g Chickpeas cooked      
  • 1 Onion         
  • 2  Cloves Garlic         
  • 1 tsp Turmeric
  • 1 tsp Baking Powder
  • Fresh Coriander
  • Pinch Salt
  • 1 Egg - Beaten
  • 2 tbs flour
  • A little vegetable oil to fry.

    1. Put the cooked chickpeas through a puree'er.
    2. Finely chop the onion and garlic and mix with the chick peas.
    3. Add chopped coriander, turmeric, baking powder and a pinch of salt.
    4. Mix thoroughly.
    5. Add the beaten egg.
    6. Mix well.
    7. Leave to stand for 30 minutes.
    8. Make into burgers, 
    9. Toss in the flour and fry for a few minutes on each side.

    Serving Idea.

    These burgers can be served on a bed of brown rice a long with a few spoons of mango chutney or with a salad.
